Death on the Adriatic

To whom it may concern,

I write regarding the death of In pektor Ivan Furlan of Koper Police. The man we have arrested is not guilty . . .

High-flyer Petra Vidmar, the youngest serving female detective in Slovenia, has her sights set on an international career. But when an anonymous plea to rectify a gross miscarriage of justice lands on her desk, she knows she can't leave local crime behind her just yet. The victim is a fellow police officer, and it seems the letter writer is too . . .

In the picturesque coastal resort of Koper, the sun shines, the sea glitters and the delicacies are delicious. But Petra quickly discovers that beneath even the most scenic of settings, there lurk blackmail, corruption, family feuds . . . and murder.

Asking difficult questions in her bid to uncover the truth behind In pektor Furlan's death, Petra feels a community, and her colleagues, turning against her. She's determined to see justice done, but will this close-to-home case launch her promising career . . . or break it?

An astonishing debut from an exciting new voice in the world of crime fiction, Death in the Adriatic is a clever, twisty tale perfect for fans of Donna Leon, Philip Gwynne Jones and the Inspector Montalbano mysteries.
